Self-Monitoring Option

Self-monitored security systems are exactly what they sound like, they are alarm systems you technically monitor yourself.  The key advantage is the cost savings over a professional UL central station dispatch plan while still retaining the modern interactive features that Alula and the Alula Connect smartphone app provides. This includes not only notification of alarms and trouble issues received on the app but you can also remote arm and disarm your security system plus control Z-Wave home automation and video options as well.

In areas where police response can be very slow the motivation for central station dispatch may not be very strong.  Its not for everyone. Many people just want interactive control of their alarm and home automation devices.

Keep in mind “you” are responsible for calling your local police, fire, or medical departments in the event of an emergency at home with self-monitoring.  If you miss the app alert on your phone or out of a WIFI or cellular service area an emergency may not be acted upon, at least in a timely manner.  This is why we always recommend 24×7 UL central station dispatch to customers.  Few insurance companies offer the typical 10% – 20% annual discount on premiums with self-monitored alarm systems.

    Installed the Verizon version of the Bat-Connect and it works perfectly with my DSC PC1616 alarm panel. Having both cellular and Internet connection is great and the remote control from my phone works well. I wish the box came with wire to connect it to my panel but it was not a big deal since I was able to get it by the foot at Lowes down the street. Since I connected the Bat next to my metal DSC control panel I only needed three feet!

    I just installed a new Honeywell Vista-15P wired alarm panel but found when ordering equipment that Honeywell is completely out of their Total Connect 2 LTE communicators. Found this out after calling MANY dealers. I decided to go with the Alula Bat-Connect-A since it gave me not only 4G but 5G service so I’m set for the future. The hook up was simple and I can alrm and disarm my system right from my phone just as I would using the Honeywell service. Was a good trade-up!

    I moved over from NextAlarm since they were shutting down our service at the end of June. Went with the Bat-Wifi adapter and the switch was pretty much plug and play. Didnt have to do anything to my Concord 4 panel, it just dialed into the new adapter. I get arm and disarm alerts on my Alula app as well as alarm events. The call from a real dispatcher is pretty quick and professional. I already started telling my neighbors about Safehomecentral who also need to move from NextAlarm soon.

    Moved away from NEXTALARM to Safehomecentral and very pleased. They had exactly what I needed and then some. For the same price I was paying I can now remotely control my Vista-15P panel with an older firmware version. Tech support was great which made everything easy.

    Swapped out my NextAlarm adapter with the BAT-WIFI and plugged in the Ethernet cord and was able to remote control my Ademco Vista-15P using the Alula app. Was easy four wire hookup and the packaged instructions were clear and concise. The price was right compared to all the other dealers I called. Friendly tech support people too!

    Connected the BAT-CONNECT to my DSC PC1616 and now have smartphone control which my last dealer could not provide, at double the price. Both my wife and I have the Alula app loaded on our phones and it works pretty quick. May add some cameras in the Spring when it warms up outside!

    I have a 6 year old First Alert panel and wanted to be able to arm and disarm my alarm system from my cell phone as well as upgrade the keypads to touchscreens without replacing the whole panel. The Bat-Connect was the perfect addition. Was way cheaper than replacing with a new panel (which my local dealer wanted to do) plus I now have WIFI and cellular communication to the monitoring center. Was simple to install just hooking up four wires. Again, perfect DIY upgrade solution!

    I was able to update my older Ademco hardwired alarm panel using the Alula Bat-Connect-V and their slimline touchscreen which connected using WIFI. Now I have both cellular and WIFI connectivity to a central station and can remote control my system using the Alula app on my phone. Was way cheaper than replacing the alarm panel which two local dealers recommended. Did some research online and found SafeHomeCentral who told me about the Bat-Connect and its features for modernizing older panels. Was easy to hook up and works great. The tech support by these people is exceptional!

    Great service! Connected to my older Honeywell panel and wow new life. Looking to try the touch keypads next but adding remote control was what I wanted and thought I would need to replace my panel for this feature. Easy to wire and 5G capability has me ready for years to come.

    Service works great controlling my DSC panel from my phone. I used the Alula Bat-Connect with my DSC PC1616 and hookup was easy and the app is the best part. Asked my local installer several times over the years how to remotely arm and disarm my system when out of the house and he had no solution. Spoke with Tim here and he hooked me up. Very simple installation and well worth the service price. Shopped around and Safehomecentral had the best pricing.

    I called to find out if there was a way to remote control my older DSC PC1616 alarm msystem and boy did they have a great solution! I went with the Alula BAT-CONNECT-V since I have better Verizon coverage in my home than AT&T. My wife’s AT&T cell hardly works inside. The communicator was easy to install and Chris worked with me getting it all set which was quick and easy. I forgot to buy some wire to hookup so had to run to my local hardware store and get about 4′ of 22ga, 4 conductor wire. The Alula app does everything promised. Easy to use and quick response arming and disarming my panel from my iPhone. The pricing was great with these guys without any contract and just recommended to my neighbor.

    Great cell phone application to control my older Honeywell alarm panel. Unfortunately my panel couldnt use Total Connect 2 because the firmware was so old but the Alula Bat-Connect worked fine. I can now activate and deactivate my alarm while on the road as well as from bed in the event I forgot on the way upstairs to arm the system. Very handy. Good performance (quick) and very intuitive to use. I shopped around and these people had the best pricing. What sold me was their indepth knowledge of the products they sell.

    I bought a BAT-CONNECT from another dealer and signed up for monthly service. After three months I was ready to find a new company because of their poor response time when our alarm tripped. Hooked up with these people and the response time was quick, under 30 seconds from when the siren sounded. Was able to save $6/month as well! Making the transition was easy after the last dealer released my MAC address which I had to ask three times. Time will tell but VERY happy with the service so far.
